The holiday season is right around the corner and without a doubt, a lot of gift wrapping paper will be used and then unceremoniously thrown away.

To reduce waste and put these pretty paper to better use, UK-based agency BEAF has created Eden’s Paper, which is 100% plantable and from which you would be able to grow your own vegetables.

Made of 100% recycled paper, the seeds are embedded in seven layers of tissue paper at the back of the wrapper paper using a special embossing process that does not involve harmful glues—the seeds are also arranged in liner sequences so that the vegetables would grown in straight lines.

Currently, Eden’s Paper is available in Chili, Broccoli, Carrot, Tomato and Onion—BEAF intends to roll out more vegetables, herbs and flowers to expand its range of plantable wrapping paper.

Eden’s Paper is now sourcing for funding on Kickstarter and promises to deliver its product in time for Christmas.
